Griffith Skills Training Centre Inc. is a not
for profit community organisation established in 1989 to assist
unemployed and disadvantaged jobseekers.
Griffith Skills Training Centre Incorporated’, Objectives
are to:

Assist disadvantaged and disabled unemployed people to
improve their job skills, their ability to seek and obtain
work and their sense of purpose and direction.
- Raise
the awareness of the local community to the problems of
unemployed people of all ages.
- Seek
support in the community to assist unemployed people to
develop their capacity for obtaining and retaining employment
and to become more self-reliant during periods of unemployment.

Programs and
activities are conducted across the Central and Western Riverina
incorporating the local Government areas of Griffith City, Wagga
Wagga City, Leeton, Narrandera, Carrathool, Hay, Deniliquin and
Murrumbidgee Shire Councils.
Through various
Government funded programs and activities the organisation works
to provide training, guidance and personal support to disadvantaged
groups aimed at securing long-term outcomes. Outcomes, which include:
stabilized
accommodation, independent living skills, vocational skills
development, work
experience and Employment
Placement.
The resulting
links that have been developed with business and community have
led to the expansion of the organisations services to include:
driver
training and development,
Small business assistance and support, Worker
accommodation and Fee
for Service training activities for individuals
and business.
A Quality
Management System ensures both the integrity of the service and
the return of funds generated from the organisations training
activities to the community to fulfil the organisations stated
objective.
